Jo Smith
Jo Smith - Reader in Soil Organic Matter and Nutrient Modelling, Institute of Biological and Environmental Sciences, School of Biological Sciences. Jo Smith is an environmental modeller with extensive experience in the development, evaluation and application of models. During the last 20 years she has been a key developer of internationally recognised models of soil organic matter and nutrient turnover, developing simple, functional models that function at a range of scales. This pragmatic approach has lead to the models being widely used internationally, and components being incorporated into the UK community land surface model, JULES.
