The First ALTER project meeting in Africa took place at the Southern Agricultural Research Institute, Hawassa, Ethiopia between 28th October and 1st November. 

 

The First ALTER project meeting in Africa took place at the Southern Agricultural Research Institute, Hawassa, Ethiopia between 28th October and 1st November.  The meeting was an opportunity to finalise workplans, to visit potential study sites in Ethiopia and meet regional stakeholders at a specially convened workshop in Hawassa.  At the workshop His Excellency Ato Fekadesilassie Beza, Manager SNNPRS Natural Resources Management and Environmental Protection Authority said "The ALTER project is very timely, as it will help policy and decision makers to shape Ethiopia's plans for a green economic strategy and the project's outcomes would contribute to helping Ethiopia achieve its aim of becoming a middle income country in the next few years"
