Charlie Langan

Ecological Economist. Expertise in Forestry, Climate Finance, Carbon Market and Green Technology Business Support.

Charlie has worked in Uganda for 2 years managing the Uganda Carbon Bureau’s forestry projects, developing programmes to support sustainable forestry organisations access carbon and climate finance. He is responsible for project development, and production of education and awareness-building material. Originally trained as a physicist, he completed an MSc at the University of Edinburgh in Ecological Economics specialising in forest carbon and payments for ecosystem services.  His academic research has examined risks to ecosystems and GHG emissions from mangrove land use change in East Africa, and interests include a landscape approach to ecosystems service management and private sector engagement solution for environmental issues. He has previously worked with the World Agroforestry Centre in Indonesia.
